General (r) Musharraf who is facing statutory proceedings for breaching the constitution failed, in defiance of the court orders, to appear before the special bench on January 16, 2014. Instead of appearing bravely in court he is taking refuge under the guise of heart problem in AFIC (the other eight illnesses enlisted in his medical report are insignificant as at this age every other Pakistani is suffering from the same). If he is really so unwell, he should have undergone an urgent angiography or some other related procedure during the fortnight he has been seeking refuge in this armed forces medical facility. The general’s solicitor, Mr A R Kasuri, lost his temper the other day while answering questions put to him by some media men and used language unbecoming a lawyer of his stature. He should have had the guts to face the media questions calmly rather than shout at them. People expected a brave face from the ex-commando rather than shying away from the courts.
