Minister’s advice to public: Avoid panic buying to end artificial petrol shortage

ISLAMABAD
Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi once again suggested the people of Pakistan to avoid panic buying so that artificial shortage of petrol in the country could be ended.
Abbasi who considers the common public as responsible for the existing fuel crisis by using more fuel than expectations said that the government was supplying more fuel than the requirement and the problem will be solved within days now.
He said that there was no shortage of petrol in Karachi and people with vested interests were spreading such rumours. He said that people should not listen to such things and buy fuel as per their requirements and avoid extra purchase that will help in mitigating fuel crisis from the country.
Minister also said that CNG will remain open throughout the week in Karachi. He said that PSO had a stock of 39000 tons with it whereas the total demand in Karachi was 800 tons a day and there was nothing to worry and there was no fuel shortage in Karachi right now.
Long queues in front of petrol pumps have not yet ended as there are lot of filling stations those are not supplying fuel that is increasing burden on those open right now.
