Boys lead the way as SSC results unveiled

MULTAN/GUJRANWAL/DG KHAN/FAISALABAD/KASUR/SARGODHA-Boys managed to break the hegemony of their girls counterparts in the Secondary School Certificate annual examination 2016 as boards of intermediate and secondary education declared results across Punjab province on Wednesday.
In Multan, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education declared the result of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2016 here on Wednesday, declaring 73,350 candidates successful, out of a total 100,162 candidates. The success ratio in the examination stood at 73.23 percent.
Punjab Minister of Special Education Asif Saeed Manais was chief guest on the occasion while the BISE Chairman and other officials were also present.
In science group, a total number of 76,782 regular candidates appeared in the exam out of which 59,520 could pass the exam making the pass percentage of 77.51.
In humanities group, a total number of 23,380 candidates appeared in the exam out of which 13,830 candidates passed the exam achieving the pass percentage of 69.85 .Total 54,763 boys appeared in the SSC examination of them 38,257 and pass percentage was 69.85. Total 45399 girls took part in the examination. Of them 35,093 passed the examination and pass percentage was far better than boys, which was 77.29.
Among the Regular candidates76,285 candidates appeared in the exam in science and other groups, out of which 60,311 could pass the exam while pass percentage was 79.06 .
Earlier, boys succeeded to break the hegemony of girls on position table in Secondary School Certificate Examination as they clinched overall first position and shared overall second with a girl in Annual 2016 exam. Muhammad Saif ur Rehman, Roll No-175581, student of a private school, stood overall first with 1085 marks while another student of the same school Muhammad Huzaifa, Roll No-173394, and Maryam Shaukat, Roll No-126193, student of a private school of Lodhran, shared overall second position with 1084 marks. The overall third position was shared by two girls namely Areeda Ahmad, Roll No-159220, and Khush Bakht, Roll No-159251. Both of them are students of a private school chain and they got 1083 marks each.
In Science Group (Boys), the overall first position holder Muhammad Saif ur Rehman, Roll No-175581 stood first with 1085 marks and his schoolmate Muhammad Huzaifa, Roll No-173394, second while Muhammad Shahzad, Roll No-155592, student of a private school third with 1080 marks.
In Science Group (Girls), the overall second position holder Maryam Shaukat, Roll No-126193, grabbed first position with 1084 marks, the overall third position holders Areeda Ahmad, Roll No-159220, and Khush Bakht, Roll No-159251, second with 1083 marks and Umat Saboor, Roll No-138052, student of a private school of Mailsi, and Maryam Khan, Roll No-161147, also student of a private school of Multan, jointly third with 1081 marks.
In Arts Group (Boys), all the three top positions were clinched by private candidates. Hafiz Tasleem Shah, Roll No208311, got 1045 marks and was declared first while Hafiz Muhammad Abu Bakar, Roll No-223552, second with 1022 marks and Naved Shahzad, Roll No-218843, third with 1016 marks.
In Arts Group (Girls), a private student Fatima, Roll No-2232066, grabbed first position with 1042 marks, Shehr Bano, Roll No-222467, second with 1041 marks and Samia Mujahid, Roll No-222946, third with 1022 marks.
PASSING PERCENTAGE REMAINS 75.7PC
In Gujranwala, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced result of annual Secondary school certificate examination 2016. According to results, a total 197,350 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 149,405 were declared successful with 75.75 pass percentage.
MPA Haji Abdul Rauf was the chief guest at the ceremony who distributed medals among the position-holders. In his speech, he said that Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif has focused the education sector and allocated a huge amount to increase literacy rate in the province. He congratulated the position-holders and advised them to continue struggle for more and more victories.
On position table, Muhammad Faizan of Science Locus school bagged first position with 1079 marks out of total 1,100; Rao Abaidur Rehman of Jadid Dastgir Ideal School and Hafiza Amaiza Ehsan of Sialkot Grammar School stood second with 1078 marks each while Mah Rukh of best school system and Aswa of Jadid Dastgir girls school jointly got third position, securing 1077 marks each.
In Science group (boys) Muhammad Faizan got first, Rao Abaidur Rehamn stood second and Wasiq Billah Harl of Ghazali Model School Phalia bagged third position with 1075 marks.
In Science group (girls), Hafiza Amaiza stood first, Mah Rukh got second and Sundas Tariq of Science foundation school captured third position, obtaining 1076 marks.
In Arts (boys group) Muhammad Hamid of government school Kamoke stood first with 1017 marks, Muhammad Salman of Madrassa Ayub Ansari got second with 1016 marks and Rafaqat Ali of government high school No-2 stood third with 1013 marks.
In Arts (girls group), Neelam Shahzadi of Bilal high school Gujrat captured first position with 1046 marks, Sidra Bano stood second with 1043 marks and Amama Naeem of science foundation school bagged third position with 1041 marks.
BOYS OUTSHINE IN FAISALABAD
In Faisalabad, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced matric annual examination results.
According BISE Controller (examination) Dr Zafar Iqbal Tahir, a total of 145827 candidates appeared in the exams of which 106426 were declared successful. Overall passing percentage remained 72.98.
As per the result, boys outshined during the annual examinations 2016. Shehram Tabasum of Lasaal High School got first position in the board with 1080 marks, while Afaq Ahmad of Divisional Public School stood second with 1079 marks whereas Fatima of Sandal college and school remained third with 1078.
In science group (boys), Shehram Tabasum of Lasaal High School grabbed first position with 1080 marks, Afaq Ahmad second with 1079 marks and Ch Ahmad Abbas of Divisional Public School and Huzafa Anas of city school remained third with 1077 marks each.
In science group (girls), Fatima of Sandal college and school got first position with 1078 marks, Raumeel Imtashal of Darul Arqum school second with 1074 while Ayesha Javaid of Chiniot Islamia girls higher secondary school, Tehreem Nisar of Al-Faisal Girls high school and Tayeeba Afzal of white rose girls high school stood third with 1073 marks.
A function to declare the result was held at BISE office hall. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah was the chief guest of the occasion but due to some reason he did not attend the ceremony.
However, MPAs Ilyas Ansari, Khalid Saeed and Ali Tabassum attended the function as chief guests. BISE Chairman Ghulam Muhammad was the guest of honour on the occasion.
BOYS GRAB TWO TOP POSITIONS
In DG Khan, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) DG Khan declared the result of Matriculation Annual Examination 2016.
As per the gazette, Hasnatur Rehman of Centre of Excellence Govt high school No-1 DG Khan secured 1086 marks out of 1100 and got first position, Muhammad Hassan of Asif Saleem Boys Higher Secondary School Alipur (Muzaffargarh) secured 1084 marks and stood second while Minhaj Fatima Khan of District Public Girls Higher Secondary School Layyah secured 1083 marks and grabbed third position.
Talking to The Nation, BISE Deputy Controller (Examinations) Sheikh Amjad Hussain informed that the Secondary School Certificate (Annual) examination had commenced on March 3, 2016. However, practical examination continued up to April 21, 2016. A total of 63,811 candidates applied online for this examination and 63693 candidates actually appeared. A total 49094 candidates were declared successful with 77.07% pass percentage.
GIRLS DOMINATE BOYS
In Sargodha, Punjab Livestock, Fisheries and Forest Minister Malik Muhammad Asif Bha said that education should be used as a weapon to overcome evils in society. He was addressing the participants of Secondary Schools Certificate results and prize distribution ceremony here on Wednesday. He said that examinations used to be sold out in the past. However, since the PML-N came into power in 1997, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif eliminated Booti Mafia and made the examination system transparent.
On the occasion, most of the position-holders of SSC examination expressed their desire to be doctor in the future. The second position-holder Habiba Shahid belongs to Noshehra, district Khushab, is the daughter of poor TV mechanic. Ali Zulifquar who has achieved second position in science group said that his father is a farmer and he also works in fields with his father.
Earlier, Sargodha BISE Controller (Examinations) Liaquat Ali Naveed announced results of the SSC annual examination. According to the results, a total of 76,367 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 57,317 were declared pass, with pass percentage of 75.5 percent.
According to BISE results, two girl students - Quratul Ain Fatima of Govt Girls High School Mandi Town, district Bhakkar and Aimen Fatima of District Public School Bhakkar - shared first position with 1080 marks each; Habiba Shahid of Shah Hamdan Public School Noshehra, district Khushab achieved second position with 1077 marks and Habibur Rehman of Comprehensive Public High School Sargodha got third position, securing 1077 marks.
KASUR STUDENTS SECURE 1ST, 3RD POSITIONS
Two students of Allama Iqbal Public School (AIPS) clinched first and third positions in Arts group in SSC Annual Examination 2016 as results were declared here on Wednesday.
According to the results, Hafiza IqraYaseen clinched first position and remained top not only in Lahore Board but also in the province by getting 1067 out of 1100 marks in the Arts group. While Muhammad Usman, student of the same school, got 994 marks and stood at third position in Lahore Board.
AIPS Principal Mehar Muhammad Ashiq said that both the students belong to lower-middle class and are being provided free education at the school. He said that they worked hard in their study and honoured the institution with their achievements.
Parents of the position-holders expressed their pleasure and termed their success a result of teachers’ hard work. Social, welfare and civil society members on the other hand, greeted the students and school administration, terming their achievement a great honour for the district.

Drowned boy scores high

KASUR-A matriculation student, who tragically drowned in BRB Canal on June 28, grabbed top position in the district in the SSC Annual Examination 2016.
According to Rescue 1122, 16-year-old Arsalan, a resident of Munir Shaheed Colony, was taking bath in BRB Canal along with his friends on June 28. Being young and comparatively weak to resist the fast-moving water, he lost in the canal in no time as the mighty streams took him far away. His body could not be recovered even after hectic struggle made by the Rescue 1122. Finally, the rescue divers pulled his body out after three days of the incident.
Irony of the fate is that the boy was a brilliant student and studied in Science group in Allama Iqbal Model High School, Kasur. He also had taken SSC Annual Examination 2016 and according to his family, he scored high marks and stood at top position in the district by getting 1022 out of 1100 marks. The aggrieved family members said that Arsalan was a brilliant student and always got prominent positions in his class. His teachers on the other hand, said that he had great abilities and could brighten country’s name.

Driver’s daughters achieve distinction
SIALKOT -Village Abdaali-Pasrur based rickshaw driver Abdul Ghafur’s two daughters clinched top positions in humanities group in annual matriculation exams 2016 held under the auspices of BISE Gujranwala.
According to the result, student Sadia Bano got 1043/1100 marks and clinched second position in humanities group. While, her younger sister Khair Bibi got 1034/1100 marks and got fifth position in humanities group in the BISE Gujranwala. The family rejoiced their brilliant success while both the girls wished to join superior services of Pakistan after doing CSS. Locals also distributed sweets in the village over success of the the girls, besides according a heroic welcome to the brilliant sisters on their arrival in the village after winning accolades.
