Malik Ishaq of LeJ granted bail

LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Thursday granted bail to Malik Ishaq, a known member of the banned outfit, Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, involved in two cases for allegedly fanning sectarianism by delivering hate speeches at two religious gatherings.
A division bench, headed by Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, heard the cases and granted the accused bail against the surety bond of Rs 200,000 for each.
Malik Ishaq, through his counsel, submitted that he was implicated in the said cases though he had nothing to do with spreading hatred among the people and the area. He said he was being victimised because of his religious thoughts.
The petitioner said police had registered the FIRs against him under Section 295-A of Pakistan Penal Code. He added these cases could only be registered against him on the complaints of some aggrieved parties whereas the police were not an aggrieved party. The court, after hearing the arguments, granted him bail.
Bhakkar police had registered two cases against Malik Ishaq for delivering hate speeches at two religious gatherings on August 8, 2012 and Feb 2, 2013. He was accused of spreading hatred and unrest in the area.
