Following the Punjab government directives, the City Police launched a crackdown on activities of banned organisations and arrested an activist.
The city police said that activist was identified as Ikramul Haq and who was sent to district jail for 90 days after interrogation.  In this connection, the police started strict surveillance in the city for the arrest of his other colleagues whom he indicated during investigation.
In another accident, 15-year-old girl committed suicide after she was reprimanded by her parents in village Fathuwala.
Kalsum, daughter of Rafiq committed suicide after taking poisonous pills when her parents rebuked her over a domestic issue.
Meanwhile, eight school going children sustained injuries, two of them seriously, when an auto rickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a Pajero jeep near Muridke-Narowal Chowk.
The injured Maryum, Ayesha and Abid were shifted to Lahore. The Muridke Saddr Police are looking into the mater.
