Fake marriage paper case

Rawalpindi - A local court on Thursday initiated proceeding to declare former federal minister for Science and Technology Muhammad Azam Khan Swati and eight others accused, including Nikkah Khawan Qari Sultan, as Proclaim Offenders in the fake marriage paper case.
Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Irfan Nasim Tarar started proceeding to declare Swati and his eight others accomplices as POs in fake marriage paper case on the plea of Police Station Sadiqabad officials.
The court postponed the hearing of the case till December 18 besides summoning record from the police.
According to sources, the investigation officers of the case appeared before the court and apprised the judge that the accused in the case could not be arrested so far despite several raids conducted in different localities. Police pleaded the court to declare the accused, including former federal minister for Science and Technology Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, Nikkah Khawan Qari Sultan and other accused. The judge initiated proceeding for declaring the accused as POs in the fake marriage paper case and ordered police to produce the case record before court on December 18, the date set for next hearing.
Earlier, a lady Shamim Akhter Kiyani lodged a complaint with the Police Station Sadiqabad, stating that a person namely Shah Nawaz claimed himself her husband but in real he was a fraudster and the marriage paper he produced was also phony.
She added that the fraudster was also a close friend of her husband Muhammad Azam Khan Swati and Shah Nawaz engineered plan of fake marriage with her on consent of the ex-federal minister.
Police while taking action registered an FIR against the accused, including Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, who was member of the Senate of Pakistan from 2006 to 2011.
However, police could only arrest one accused Shah Nawaz whereas the rest nominated persons were still at large.
A court also issued the arrest warrants for the accused but police remained failed in handcuffing the accused.
