Nouman maintains supremacy in 61st National Amateur Golf

LAHORE - Nouman Ilyas of Lahore Garrison Greens Golf Club on Saturday maintained his supremacy on the third day with a three-round aggregate of 214, two under par in the 61st National Amateur Ranking Golf Championship being played at PAF Golf Course. 
Nouman’s third round 18 holes score was a praiseworthy par 72 gross and that added to his one under par scores in the earlier two rounds gives him a three-round aggregate of 214, two under par and made him look unassailable as far as the combat in the final 18 holes on Sunday is concerned. His nearest foe Salman Jehangir (Lahore Gymkhana) is placed at a three-round aggregate score of 222, eight strokes behind Nouman. 
First day hero M Shoaib of Gymkhana secured third position with three round scores of 69, 78 and 76 and an aggregate of 223, which he shares with Omar Khalid of Karachi Golf Club. Saim Shazli of Karachi lies at an aggregate score of 225 while at 227 is Hussain Hamid of Royal Palm and at 228 are Qasim Ali Khan (Gymkhana), Hamza Khattak (Peshawar) and M Dharmal (MDN). Another gifted one at 230 was M Umer Khokher.
In senior amateurs, top performers are Col Waqar Ahmed (Garrison) leading at a two-round score of 157 followed by Tariq Mehmood (Garrison) at 158, Amer Mir at 160 and Col Asif Mehdi and Haji Ishaq (Quetta) at 161. The Inter Association Team Match for senior amateur teams concluded yesterday and the winning team was Punjab Team comprised of Tariq Mehmood, Col Asif Mehdi, Col M Shafi and Shafiq Bhatti. Their team score was 483 while Federal Golf Association (FGA) was runner-up with a score of 506.
In the ladies’ section, Humna Amjad (PAF) was on top with two-round scores of 74 and 72 and an aggregate of 146. Placed second is Rimsha Ijaz (Defence Raya) with two-round aggregate of 150. At 152 is Parkha Ijaz, at 160 are Suneya Osama and Aania Farooq Syed and at 162 is Daniah Syed. The fourth and final round will be contested today (Sunday).
