Rawalpindi-Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Ashfaq Ahmed Khan on Tuesday held an open court.
Visitors from all the four districts including Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock filed their complaints.
RPO heard all the complainants carefully and ordered SSP Range Investigation Bureau (RIB) for further action.
According to details, RPO Rawalpindi Region Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, following orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan and as per open door policy of Punjab government, organised an open court in his office. The complaints belonging to four districts arrived and lodged complaints against inefficiency and negligence of police officers including holding probe into cases with police stations concerned.
A citizen Muhammad Yaqoob of Choha Syedan Shah lodged complaint that her wife had died due to negligence of a doctor and a case against the doctor was also lodged with police station City Chakwal. He alleged police are not arresting the accused. RPO ordered change in investigation in the case asking SSP RIB to look into matter.
Similarly, Rana Umair tabled an application seeking change in investigation in a murder case registered with police station Kallar Kahar. RPO also directed SSP RIB for change in investigation of the case.
Likewise, RPO Rawalpindi Region Ashfaq Ahmed Khan heard many other complainants against police officers and issued orders for resolving the issues of public.
RPO also asked the subordinates to submit their reports in various cases with his offices during the given time frame. “Getting justice is the right of every citizen and police are making all out efforts to ensure speedy justice that too on merit,” he said.
Meanwhile, SSP Operations Rai Mazhar also held open court in Police Station City, according to a police spokesman.
SP Rawal Division Zia Uddin Ahmed, SDPOs Farhan Aslam, Chaudhry Asar and Beenish Fatima were also present on the occasion.
During the open court, a large number of complainants appeared before SSP Operations and lodged their complaints against police officers. Rai Mazhar issued orders to police officers to address the problems of complainants and to submit their report with his office.
