PML-N candidate Mumtaz Tamman won the bye-election in NA-61, Chakwal-II, with a huge margin, defeating independent rival Mansoor Hayat Tamman, reported a private TV channel. According to unofficial results compiled from 314 polling stations, Mumtaz Tamman bagged 92,714 votes while Mansoor obtained 34,136 only. The total number of polling centres establi0shed in the constituency was 363 with more than 700 booths. The seat had become vacant after PML-Ns Sardar Faiz Tamman, who defeated PML-Q leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi in 2008 general elections, decided to tender resignation.
