In memory of Khan of Kalat

LAHORE - Khan of Kalat Mir Ahmad Yar Khan was remembered by Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) on Monday.
On the 37th anniversary of the Khan of Kalat at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan, Prof Yousuf Irfan paid tribute to the Khan of Kalat for his services.
He said that Mir Ahmad Yar Khan was a lover of the Quaid-i-Azam and played an important role for the organisation of Muslim League in Balochistan.
"The Quaid was always given a guard of honor and salute of guns whenever he visited Kalat,” he said, adding that it was all the great affection of great Quaid in Khan’s heart. The Khan announced his affiliation with Pakistan in 1948. He was appointed as the Balochistan governor in 1974.
The speakers stressed the need following in the footsteps of such leaders to cope with challenges confronting the country.
A sitting on the 50th anniversary of Pakistan Movement worker and companion of the Quaid-i-Azam, Khawaja Nazmuddin, will be held today at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan. Prof Dr Parveen Khan will address on the occasion.
Khawaja Nazmuddin became the second governor general of Pakistan, right after the demise of Quaid-i-Azam and also the second prime minister after Liaqat Ali Khan’s death. The speakers will highlighted various aspects of the legend’s life
