CM Buzdar irked by poor cleanliness in Lahore

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited various sections of the provincial metropolis without protocol to review the situation of cleanliness. He drew his vehicle sans staff officer, security officer and official photographer and cameraman. The CM expressed displeasure over the poor cleanliness situation in some areas and directed the LWMC to improve the sanitation arrangements adding that the cleanliness plan should be daily monitored. No compromise would be made in this regard as he had been receiving complaints about the situation of cleanliness; he said and reiterated that the provision of a clean environment to the citizens was the responsibility of the government.

Punjab claims taking lead in Ashra 

Rehmatul-lil-Alameen celebrations

The Punjab government has claimed to have taken a lead regarding the celebrations of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen as hundreds of thousands of ceremonies were held in the private and government institutions across the province on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. According to a handout, special editions were published, and programmes were broadcasted in print and electronic media highlighting the activities of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen. Husan-e-Qirat, Na’at, Speech, Competitions and Muhafil-e-Milad were also held in all the schools, colleges and universities across the province while a Natia Mushahra was also held in Lahore. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also participated in a religious conference along with scholars belonging to a different school of thought. The CM had announced the celebrations of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen on 1st Rabi ul Awal and also announced to give Rehmatul-lil-Alameen medals to police and other law enforcing agencies officials. 

 

CM’s office and all other government buildings were also illuminated during Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen. Usman Buzdar also announced to increase scholarships for deserving students up to one billion. Seerat chairs were established in the universities of Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Chakwal and Okara. The Chief Minister attended the main ceremony presided over by PM Imran Khan. CM also visited central jail Kot Lakhpat and announced the prison’s package worth rupees 5.5 billion beside 60 days remission in inmates punishment. 

The CM announced a security allowance equivalent to one basic pay not only for jail employees but also upgraded their posts and announced a jail Shuhada package. In the direction of CM, air coolers, exhaust fans, LED lights, additional fans, TV cable networks would also be installed. Similarly, sports and medical camps would be set up for inmates while a parole committee has been constituted for working on modalities release of ailing and senior handicapped inmates. Prison vans and ambulances would also be provided on the directions of Punjab CM. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a gym and fitness centre for prisoners. 

 

In connection with the celebration of Ashra Rehmatul-lil-Alameen, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar attended a Mehfil-e-Sama held at Lahore Arts Council; renowned Qawwal Abu Muhammad along with fellows presented Sufi Kalam, Hamd and Natia Qawali in different languages. He also attended an “ISM-E-MUHAMMAD” calligraphic exhibition held under the auspices of Punjab Arts Council at Alhamra Arts Gallery and distributed medals among the position holder of calligraphers. CM also attended Eid Miladun Nabi Mehfil at Jamia Masjid in CM Office and also visited Kashana along with his family and presented gifts to the children residing at Kashana and announced a tour of Murree and Lahore for them.
