Pervez Elahi for taking timely measures to prevent dengue

LAHORE - A delegation of Sri Lankan doctors led by Prof Dr Abdul Majeed Chaudhry called on Acting Punjab Governor Ch Parvez Elahi in Governor’s House on Wednesday. 

Delegation included President SAARC Surgical Care Society Prof M.D Lamawansa, Prof Bawantha Gamage Secretary General Secretary SAARC Surgical Care Society and Prof Farooq Afzal President Society of Surgeons Lahore. Ch Parvez Elahi told the delegation that the Punjab government should have taken timely measures to control spread of the dengue Larva. 

He said that the Punjab government should immediately start spraying all over Punjab so that the growing disease of dengue could be controlled and precious lives could be saved.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that Sri Lanka controlled the dengue in time. 

 

“Pakistan should also benefit from Sri Lankan research to fight dengue and should send experts to Sri Lanka so that Punjab could also come up with a strategy to get rid of this insidious disease,” he maintained.  Sri Lankan Professor Lamawanse said that relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka had always been cordial.  “We are ready to eradicate the dengue epidemic and exchange research cells,” he said, adding that Sri Lanka would extend all possible cooperation to Pakistan for the eradication of dengue.
