Amir, Nasir in COAS Squash final



ISLAMABAD - Pakistan No 1 squash player Amir Atlas Khan will take on Nasir Iqbal in the 10th Chief of Army Staff Pakistan International Squash Circuit-II Championship final on Sunday (today).
In the first semi-final, Amir Atlas Khan beat Farhan Zaman despite losing first game 9-11 and finally managed to beat his tough opponent in 4 games. Amir won second game by 13-11 and third 11-9 and came back after trailing 4-9 in the fourth game and won by 11-9. Brigadier Iqtidar Naseer Ahmed Director Army Sports Directorate was the chief guest at the semi-final.
In the second semi-final Nasir Iqbal beat Danish Atlas Khan by 11-9, 11-8 and 11-8 and set final clash with Amir Atlas Khan. Jansher Khan, former world champion was the chief guest of the second semi-final. Malik Amjad Ali Noon President Punjab Squash Association, Wing Commander Abdul Wahab Marwat Honorary Secretary Pakistan Squash Federation and Tariq Farooq Rana Honorary Secretary Punjab Squash Association were also present there.
Zoya Khalid and Saima Shoukat entered the final. Zoya Khalid beat Rushna Mehboob 3-0 in the first semi-final while Saima Shoukat crushed Amna Latif by 11-3, 11-5 and 11-4 in the second semi-final.
Pakistan Squash Federation Vice President Qamar Zaman was the chief guest at the second semi-final. Ladies final will be played today (Sunday) at 1pm while the final will also be played today and Commander 10 Corps Lt Gen Khalid Nawaz Khan will be the chief guest.
