ITF rep visits Peshawar, glad to see talent in KP

PESHAWAR   -   National Coordinator for Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) Program Hamid Niaz Thursday visited Peshawar to inspect KP government-provided clay, grassy and synthetic facilities at Peshawar Sports Complex and Pakistan Tennis Club Shahi Bagh. During his visit to the tennis courts, Hamid Niaz also met with KP Tennis Association (KPTA) Chairman Prof Dr Tahir Khan and President DIG Police M Saleem Marwat and discussed ways and means regarding promotion of tennis in the province. Dr Tahir appraised Hamid Niaz about the steps being taken by KP govt for the promotion of tennis across the province besides announcing sports scholarships and other incentives for both male and female players. He also informed him about KPTA calendar of events and setting up various coaching and training camps being supported by Directorate of Sports KP for tennis players. ITF rep Hamid Niaz lauded the steps being taken by KP govt and KPTA for the promotion of tennis in the province. Hamid revealed that Level-I coaches Shehryar Khan and Zakir Ullah have been appointed as KP Junior ITF Coaching Coordinators for the program.
