FAISALABAD - COMSATS University Islamabad will open its campus in Faisalabad very soon. This was said by Professor Imtiaz Ali Khan, Director COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad
Campus, while addressing a function after inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
He said it is the first public sector university which had been established on the pattern of self-reliance
to generate its own funds. He said it had 600 PhD doctors from diverse fields of emerging sciences that were also playing their pivotal role.
He said:” We are planning to open new campuses under the Public,Private Partnership (PPP) and in this connection a proposal was under consideration to set up COMSATS campus in Faisalabad as soon as possible. Earlier, President FCCI Atif Munir Sheikh said that he was signing a series of MoUs with local and national research institutes and universities to transform the textile sector from traditional to the hi-tech mode.
He said:” We must support the industrial sector in problem solving through research-based institutions in addition to catering to their needs of innovation.” He said the FCCI was also holding a national level economic conference by the end of March this year. Later, President FCCI Atif Munir Sheikh and Professor Imtiaz Ali Khan signed the MoU and exchanged shields.
