Hamid Niaz conducts PTF’s JTI Workshop at Sargodha University

LAHORE - JTI National Coordinator Hamid Niaz has conducted two-day Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) workshop at University of Sargodha. 
Talking to The Nation from Sargodha, Hamid Niaz said: “The event was organized in connection with PTF’s JTI Programme backed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), in collaboration with University of Sargodha. Over 200 student of Department of Sports Sciences attended this important tennis activity and learnt a lot about the game from JTI Coordinator Hamid Niaz. I am grateful to Mr. Yasir Iqbal, Head of the Department of Sports Sciences, who took keen interest in organizing the PTF’s JTI workshop in order to promote tennis in Sargodha Region. 
“Altogether, 18 students were selected amongst the workshop attendees from the Department of Sports & Sciences, who are assisting Hamid Niaz to conduct JTI camps at various schools in the city of Sargodha. As part of one of the major objectives of National JTI Program, it remains quite essential to increase the number of coaches, who may be trained to run the JTI activities in respective regions,” the JTI Coordinator added. 
Head of the Department Sports Sciences Yasir Iqbal promised his all-out cooperation to JTI Coordinator regarding JTI programme in Sargodha division. He also announced that in collaboration with PTF, Department of Sports Sciences UoS, is ready to transform its tennis facility into JTI Official Tennis Centre, which will be open for the children and youth of the city for training purpose, where the selected students of the university will conduct the JTI activities. 
The selected UoS students, who will to run JTI Program in Sargodha, are Saadat Nazar, Andleeb Zahra, Izza Jameel, Muhammad Faizan, Ramzan Gul, Kainat Tahir, Asma Batool, Talha Khursheed, Syeda Aiman Zehra, Syed Murtaza Haider, Shoaib Ali, Mian Waqas Riaz, Atiq ur Rehman, Nayab, Shaiza Bibi, Sobia Altaf, Umme Rubab, Abdul Hanan and Zeeshan Shahid. 
On behalf of Pakistan Tennis Federation, Hamid Niaz thanked Mr. Yasir Iqbal and his team especially Bilal Ahmed Qureshi for holding two-day JTI workshop in a professional and successful manner. He said that there is no dearth of the talent in Sargodha but the dire need of the hour is to provide the kids and youth proper platforms where they may exhibit their prowess and excel in their respective games.
