Changes in Police Order for quick relief finalised

LAHORE - Inspector General Punjab police Shaukat Javed has said that recommendations have been finalised for necessary amendments in Police Order 2002 due to which not only the process of curbing crimes would be made more effective from the society but also immediate relief would be provided to the masses. The Elite Training School was proved to be effective institution for imparting professional training to the police officers and officials. According to a handout, he expressed these views while talking to a delegation of under training ASPs of Elite Force headed by DIG Elite Rao Amin Hasim. DIG Operation Muhammad Rafiq Hasan was also present on the occasion. IG said that amended Police Order 2002 would be harmonisd with the imperative of provision of justice to the common man. He said that the unity of command would be ensured at SHO, DSP and DPO level regarding functioning of investigation and operation. He said that a separate wing of investigation will work under the supervision of SP for the investigation of heinous crime including terrorism, kidnap for ransom, gang rape, dacoity and murder but concerned SHO, DSP and DPO would also be responsible in this regard. IG further said that fundamental changing in the training system had been carried out in order to attain integration, uniformity and standardisation in the training pattern of the police department. He said that training was being imparted on scientific lines to the police officials for the elimination of terrorism, maintenance of law and order and to meet any emergency situation. He informed that new post of Addl IG recruit had been created in the Central Police Office besides AIG training and AIG recruit were performing their duties for the promotion of the abilities and capacity of police officers. He said that more modern training centers of international standard were being established at various place at the province for the training of police officials and massive up gradation of existence police institutes have been under taken with a view to enhance their training capacity and infrastructure. IG Punjab urged the young officers to develop a spirit of dedication and commitment for the provision of relief to the masses. Cash prize awarded Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Pervez Rathore has awarded cash prizes worth rupees 34 thousand to five police officials on their better performance. The officials who were rewarded include Sub Inspector Karamat, Constable Muhammad Sunta, Muhammad Amin, Noveed, Khalid Mehmood and Khadim Hussain. Electrocuted A 22-year-old truck conductor was electrocuted in Chuhang police limits here on Saturday. Edhi officials said Muhammad Asad, a resident of Mianwali, was a truck driver by profession. On Saturday Asad was guiding the truck driver in taking a U-turn on the road. Meanwhile, the conductor mistakenly touched live electric wires passing near the road and received severe shocks. He was immediately rushed to the Jinnah Hospital but died on the way. The body was handed over to the heirs without autopsy. Youth crushed to death A 28-year-old youth was crushed by a speedy tractor trolley in Chuhang police area on Saturday. Edhi officials said that the victim, a resident of Sargodha was crossing the road when a tractor trolley crushed him causing his at the spot death. The driver, however, managed his escape from the spot. The body was handed over to the heirs without autopsy.
