The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench Tuesday cancelled seven-year sentence to PML-N leader Javed Hashmi. Sessions Judge Islamabad had handed seven-year jail term to Muslim League (Nawaz) central leader Javed Hashmi under sedition charges. Hashmi passed three years and nine months in Adiala jail and later released on bail. He had filed appeal against the sentence in Rawalpindi bench of Lahore High Court, which declared the sentence null and void. A case under sedition charges was registered against Hashmi during Gen. Musharraf's rule.
