KAMOKE - The Railway Police registered cases against unidentified people for looting and torching Babu train and pelting stones on buildings.
The FIR has been lodged 68/2012 under Sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 392, 427, 435 while Railway Act 120, 121, 126, 127, 128, 137 have also been added to the case. According to the FIR, the mob turned violent and created panic in the area by stopping the train and put it on the fire. The furious protesters destroyed public property and attacked ‘Babo Express’. They hurled stones at the train also looted it as well.  The police conducted raids for the arrest of the unidentified culprits while some of them have been arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, the Gujranwala DCO urged the people to control their anger during protest.
 “It is moral duty of religious leaders, political leaders and traders to check the protesters not to involve in violence,” he added.
He was addressing a meeting here TMA hall the other day. PML-N MNA Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan also addressed the meeting.
