ECP issues schedule of delimitations in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced schedule/timeline for carrying out delimitation of the local government constituencies in Islamabad capital territory.

The ECP while using its constitutional power under section 17 and 221 of the Election Act 2017, chapter 3(B) of the Election Rules 2017, section 6(2), 3 and section 7 of the Islamabad Capital Territory Act 2015 has announced to start the administrative arrangements including procurement of maps and relevant data from June 6 to July 1 this year.

The Commission in its statement said that preparations of the preliminary list of the constituencies will start from July 2 and will end on August 10 this year. The final list of the preliminary constituencies will be published on August 11.

The Commission further said that the voters can file their objections with the delimitation authority from August 12 to August 27; saying that the disposal of the objection will take place from August 12 to September 11 this year.

The Commission further said that the final publications of lists of constituencies will take place on September 20/2021.
