11 nabbed, weapons seized in Peshawar raids

PESHAWAR - Eleven persons were arrested with heavy weapons during search operations in the provincial capital on Sunday. A police official said that bomb disposal unit and lady police also accompanied the cops during the raids, conducted on the directive of Capital City Police Officer Abbas Ahsan and supervision of SSP Yasir Afridi. The raiding teams from Badbher Police Station, led by DSP Malik Habib, arrested seven persons identified as Hazrat Ali, Muhammad Daud, Sajid, Muhammad Umar, Wisal, Daud and Wakil. Similarly, the raiding team from Urmarh Police Station, led by DSP Alamzeb Khan, arrested four persons including Sher Ali, Anwar Shah, Umar and Shafiq. The cops also recovered four Kalashnikovs, one repeater, nine pistols, 1kg charas and hundreds of bullets during the raids.
