29 militants killed in Baluchistan operation

Quetta: At least 29 militants were killed in a province-wide operation led by Frontier Constabulary (FC) against insurgency and terrorism, in Baluchistan.

DIG FC Brig. Tahir and Home Minister Baluchistan Sarfraz Bugti told details about the crackdown, while addressing a press conference in Quetta today.

FC operations in Mastung and Kalat districts of Baluchistan left 20 militants dead and several injured, while hideouts of terrorists were also destroyed. Four FC personnel were also wounded. Six more militants were arrested in a crackdown against Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) in Mushkay area of Quetta.

Operation was also conducted in Zhob, Loralai and Ziarat districts where eight terrorists were killed, including two suicide bombers.

DIG FC said that 1,350 kg explosive material has been recovered from Qilla Abdullah, during the operation. “Five hideouts of the militants were destroyed in the operations," Brig. Tahir said.

12 suicide vests, six RPG-7 rifles, 40 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 12 explosive tunnels and six bombs were recovered in the operations. Chemical drums and other explosives were also found in possession of militants during successful operations.

Baluchistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said, government will restore law and order in the province at all costs. He said the operations against terrorists are going on as per the National Action Plan. He asked terrorists to surrender before the law, otherwise be ready to face the music.
