11th Bahawalpur Women University syndicate meeting held

BAHAWALPUR   -  The 11th meeting of the Syndicate of Women University Bahawalpur was held online under the chairmanship of Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Punjab and Pro Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women’s University Bahawalpur. 

Additional Secretary Manzar Javed, University of Higher Education Department, represented the Secretary HED and Shehzad Ahmed Akhtar, Director Local Fund Audit, Bahawalpur, also represented the Secretary Finance.  Syndicate Members IUB Vice Chancellor Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, Member Punjab Assembly Mrs. Firdous Rana and Member Punjab Assembly Mrs Shahida Ahmad also attended the meeting. 

The meeting discussed and approved the teaching, administrative and development issues. Development projects related to the development affairs of the university with far-reaching results were approved in meeting.

On this occasion, the Syndicate Committee also appreciated the efforts made by the university administration which had resolved the longstanding issues of teachers and employees and no one would be allowed to usurp the rights of others.

Pro Chancellor the Government Sadiq College Women’s University Bahawalpur Raja Yasir Humayun discussed the illegal recruitments in university which were made without fulfilling the Higher Education Commission’s criteria. A three member committee chaired by Vice Chancellor of the Government Sadiq College Women’s University Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Saeqa Imtiaz Asif which would make recommendations for resolving these issues expeditiously.

Finally, the Vice Chancellor of the Government Sadiq College, Women’s University, Bahawalpur, Prof Dr Saeqa Imtiaz Asif, as the host, thanked the participants of the syndicate meeting and said that the Government of Bahawalpur Women’s University has improved the teaching and extra-curricular activities.

The party is continuing its online activities in full compliance with the instructions given in Covid 19. He further said that they were working day and night for the construction and development of the university.

DPO vows all-out efforts to eliminate crime 

District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal said that crimes were a reality in a society and the police efforts to eliminate them and maintain a peaceful environment for people was a great duty.

He said he always tried to maintain law and order situation under control and eliminate the all kinds of major and minor crimes from the area of his jurisdiction with the cooperation of general public and media. He further said that no negligence would be tolerated in registering cases as it was the legal right of the people. He told that cooperation of general public and media as well was vital for elimination of the crimes from the society but that cooperation was only possible when law enforcement agencies may succeed to gain the confidence of the public. He said that behavior and character of the officials and officers of the law enforcement agencies matter very much to gain the confidence of the masses.

The DPO further said that violence or illegal detention in police stations would not be accepted. He said that accountability and commendation would go hand in hand while poor performance would be punished and certificates of appreciation and rewards would be distributed among the officers who excelled.
