Faisalabad airport conducts Covid-19 testing for 180 passengers

FAISALABAD  -  The corona rapid tests of 180 passengers were conducted at Faisalabad International Airport on Friday. Assistant Commissioner Saddar Umar Maqbool supervised the process of tests of passenger, who had arrived at airport from Bahrain by two air lines. All the passengers were allowed to go home after their tests reports were found negative.

182,532 vaccinated against corona

As many as 182,532 people had so far been vaccinated against the COVID-19 in the district. District Health Officer Dr Ataul Mun’im said on Friday that 149,280 citizens had been given the first dose while 33,252 were administered second dose of vaccine. He said that 15,878 health workers were also given first dose while 9,043 received second dose of vaccine. He said that 17 vaccination centers were operational in Faisalabad where people were getting vaccine doses, adding that a sufficient stock of vaccine was available in the district.

Corona vaccination centre set up at Allied Hospital

A separate corona vaccination center has been made functional at Allied Hospital for facilitating the people. The vaccination center was earlier working only for the medical staff of the hospital but now it had been opened for the general public.

According to hospital sources, people can vaccinate themselves against coronavirus by visiting the Allied Hospital. The objective of setting up the center was to reduce the burden on other centres and extended the vaccination facility to maximum people near to their homes, the sources said. The center will remain functional from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Four butchers arrested over profiteering

The police arrested four butchers over profiteering here on Friday. 

A police spokesman said Assistant Commissioner City Syed Ayub Bukhari conducted a raid in People’s Colony at Sammundri Road near Jhall Khannuana and found butchers of Shehbaz Mutton & Beef Shop, Sabir Mutton & Beef Shop and Habib Ullah Mutton & Beef Shop selling mutton at Rs1300 per kg.

The police registered separate cases against Shehbaz, Khalid, Habib Ullah and Sabir.
