PESHAWAR - Counter-Terrorism Department and Peshawar Police conducted a joint operation in which three militants linked to IS-Khorasan were killed.
Police said that three other accomplices of the slain militants managed to escape during the night-time operation taking advantage of darkness.
On a tip-off, the CTD and police personnel raided Shahpur area of Peshawar where the militants opened fire at the law enforcers as soon as they reached there. Also, three SMGs, grenades and cartridges were seized from the possession of the militants. After the shoot-out, the CTD personnel also launched an operation to arrest the terrorists who had escaped. Meanwhile, an unidentified gunmn martyred a policeman in Mathra area of Peshawar on Thursday after the cop had just finished polio security duty. An official said the traffic police official Mohibullah was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to bullet injuries on the way.
