Sexual assault case: Two hospital officials suspended in Rahim Yar Khan

The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Punjab (SHMED) has suspended Principal Sheikh Zaid Medical College Hospital Professor Mubarak Ali Chaudhary and Medical Superintendant (MS) Dr Ghulam Rabani over negligence in performing their duties in a case pertaining to the sexual assault on a female doctor by a Sweeper at the hospital.

According to a notification, Dr Abdul Rehman will assume the charge of Principal SHMED while assistant medical superintendant Dr Khalid Mehmood will assume post of medical superintendant till new orders.

On the other hand, SHMED spokesperson Rana Ilyas Ahmad has confirmed the suspension of both the officials.

It is vital to mention here that Dr Shabbir Warriach of Young Doctors Association, had alleged that a Sweeper has sexually assaulted a female doctor on a night duty.

He said Principal and MS of the hospital had pressurized the victim lady doctor not to bring the case into public.
