‘Dispose of expired anti-dengue drugs’

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed Punjab government to waste expired anti-dengue drugs available at stores of health department.
The petitioner Noshab A Khan submitted that Punjab government bought anti-dengue drugs in September 2011 but these drugs expired while lying in stores.
The petitioner said that these expired drugs might be used this year as last year. Contending over the stance, Noshab said that most of dengue patients died owing to poor and insufficient arrangements made by the health department.
A law officer representing the government assured the court that the expired drugs would not be used. Upon which, the chief justice directed Punjab government to make a list for expired and unexpired drugs and waste all expired drugs available in stores.–Staff REporter
