Speaking about the case against the Indian spy, Kulbhushan Jadhav on Thursday, newly-appointed Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he was optimistic about Pakistan’s victory in the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
While speaking to the media in Multan, The FM said, “We have concrete evidence against the Indian spy and I am hopeful that we would win the case in the ICJ.”
A day after the ICJ set February 2019 as the date for hearing the case of the convicted Indian spy, Qureshi said that Pakistan would try its best to present our stance in an effective manner before ICJ.
After Jadhav, an on-duty Indian navy officer, was arrested and sentenced to death by Pakistan for espionage and subversive activities last year, India had moved the ICJ against the case.
Qureshi further said, “Pakistani government would try their nest to make sure that this country moves forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.”
“The nation should be ready as we will have to take some bitter decisions,” the foreign minister said. Qureshi also said that the international community wishes for peace in Afghanistan.
