Lahore Division win Punjab Inter-division Gymnastics Championship

LAHORE - Lahore Division won the Punjab Inter-division Gymnastics Championship, which was jointly organised by Sports Promotion Society (SPS) and Lahore Division Gymnastics Association here at Government College University Lahore. 
Talking to The Nation, organizing secretary Faisal Fayyaz, who is also associate secretary of Pakistan Gymnastics Federation, president of Sports Promotion Society and advisor and Country Head Pakistan of International Association of Physical Education and Sports (IAPES), said: “Lahore Division team emerged as crowned champion of the event with 145 points while Gujranwala Division team scored 119 points to finish as runner-up and Faisalabad team scored 87 points to secure third position. Muhammad Sohail of Lahore Division was declared the best gymnast of the event. 
Professor Dr Asghar Zaidi, Vice Chancellor Government College University Lahore, graced the occasion as chief guest and he, along with other notables including Director Marketing Nawa-i-Waqt Group Bilal Mehmood and PGF General Secretary Parvaiz Ahmed distributed medals and trophies among the athletes while shields and prizes were also given away to the officials and guests. 
The chief guest as well as guests of honour congratulated organizing secretary Faisal Fayyaz for conducting the event in a successful manner and lauded the huge participation of all the divisions. The members of the organizing committee included Mian Muhammad Farooq, Aqeel Asghar, Hakeem Hanif Ali, Nazar Muhammad, Mubashir Abbas, Syed Imtiaz Hussain, Ramzan Ali, Tauseef-ur-Rehman and Ali Fayyaz.
