KARACHI - Defending champion Wajid Ali of Wapda retained his men's singles crown in SeaRock National Badminton Championships defeating challenger Ahsan Qamar (PIA) in one-sided straight sets final rather easily 21-16,21-12 on Saturday late night here at National Coaching Centre gymnasium. Palwasha Bashir of NBP won her first national women's singles crown defeating teammate Sara Mahmond in an unfinished final which ended when loser retired from the contest. Palwasha won 21-19,20-17(retired) Palwasha Bashir went on to win triple crown and Rizwan Azam a double. Palwasha Bashir won women's doubles event with Ayesha Akram and the same pair won women's doubles final. Rizwan Azam won men's doubles crown with Choudhry Atique and the mixed doubles final with Sara Mohmand. Results Men's singles: Wajid Ali (Wapda) beat Ahsan Qamar (PIA) 21-16,21-12. Mixed doubles: Sara Mohmand and Rizwan Azam (NBP) beat Choudhry Atique(Wapda)and Palwasha Bashir(NBP) 21-18,21-18. Veterans singles: Amir Islam (Wapda) beat Tahir Javed(Wapda) 21-11,21-6.
