Punjab govt releases Rs3b for uplift work


BAHAWALPUR - The Punjab government has released a sum of more than Rs3 billion for the undergoing 150 development schemes as 40pc work of these under construction schemes has been completed with the cost of more than Rs1 billion.
This was informed during a meeting held to review the ongoing development works in the area. The meeting was chaired by the newly-posted Bahawalpur Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khitchi.
It was said that the ongoing development works included the construction of roads, buildings of Health, Education Departments and the building of Rescue 1122 in Ahmedpur East.
The work on the completion of Cardiology Unit, Kidney Centre and Kidney Transplantation Centre at the Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Emergency Block at Sheikh Zayyed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan, Water Treatment and Sewerage system project at Rahim Yaar Khan besides the construction of the building of the Govt Girls Degree Colleges at RY Khan and Minchanabad, it was told in the meeting.
The Commissioner directed the official concerned to carry out all the ongoing developments according to the approved standard and on time.
Auqaf Dept arranges Seerat Conference: The district Auqaf Department arranged Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference here Wednesday at the Rashidiya Auditorium.
The conference was largely attended by the Ulema from all over the division including Maulana Rasheed Ahmed Abbasi, Maulana Munawar Hussain Saeedi, Syed Akhter Hussain Zaidi, Sh Abdul Latif, Maulana Abdur Razzaq Shaiyq, Maulana Mufti Muhammad Mazhar Asadi, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Madni, Maulana Abdul Karim Nadeem, Maulana Hafiz Habibur Rehman Akhter, Rana Muhammad Khalid and others.
Addressing on the occasion, the speakers underlined the need to follow the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for peaceful, progressive and prosperous life to bring revolution in society and world.
