Through the courtesy of your esteem newspaper, I appeal to the provincial government of KPK and high-ups of Elementary and Secondary Education Department to initiate measures to regularise Secondary School Teachers (SST) recruited through NTS last year. The teachers demand the PTI government to implement promises of change and merit in letter and spirit. In KPK around 1100 contractual SST teachers are awaiting regularisation, after one year of their service on an ad hoc basis.

The Finance Minister KPK has assured the teachers in a meeting to present a bill in the provincial assembly, for regularization of these sanctioned posts. The teacher’s community should not be deprived of their legitimate rights, even after passing through a tough selection process conducted in a transparent manner by NTS. Job security matters a lot for those who have to run their households in the present circumstances.
