ISLAMABAD - The federal government has appointed Professor Anis Ahmad as new National Rahmatul-Lil-Alameen Authority.
It must be noted that Dr Ijaz Akram, who is prominent Islamic scholar, was appointed as Chairman of the Authority by the federal government in December last year, however, he was removed from his post almost after two months due to his week performance. The authority has ten-member advisory council comprising Hamza Yusuf, Dr Sayyed Hussain Nasr, Muhammad Faghfoorey, Dr Joseph Lumbard, Waleed al Ansari, Dr Anees Ahmed, Dr Attaur Rehman, Barrister Nusret Majid, Dr Basit Koshul and Dr Sahibzada Sajid Rehman.
