Afghan soil not used in Charsadda attack: Kabu

University attackers threaten more school strikes

Kabul - The Afghan government has rejected that the Afghan soil was used by the terrorists to launch attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda city of Pakistan.
The Office of the President in a statement said the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has never supported a terrorist group and has never provided sanctuaries for the terror groups, reported Afghan news agency, Khaama Press. The statement further added “The recent remarks by Head of the Inter Services Public Relations Gen Asim Bajwa suggesting that the group of terrorists launched attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, are baseless.”
Strongly condemning the attack on Bacha Khan University, the Office of the President said fight against terrorism is only possible through joint and sincere cooperation.
The statement also added that the Afghan government understands there is no good or bad terrorists since the terrorists are only pursuing to spread terror, insisting on joint and bold efforts to combat the menace of the terror in the region.
The Pakistani military claimed that the attack was coordinated by the terrorist groups using the Afghan soil.
Meanwhile, The Taliban faction behind a massacre at a university in Charsadda this week issued a video message Friday vowing to target schools throughout the country, calling them "nurseries" for people who challenge Allah's law.
The video, which spread rapidly on Facebook but was not released on official media accounts for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistani (TTP), shows Khalifa Umar Mansoor, whose faction claimed responsibility for the attack on Bacha Khan University.
In the video, Mansoor said his faction had attacked the university "because this is the place where lawyers are made, this is the place that produces military officers, this is the place that produces members of the parliament, all of whom challenge Allah's sovereignty".
Flanked by armed extremists wearing masks, he said that instead of targeting professional soldiers, "we will target the nurseries that produce these people".
"We will continue to attack schools, colleges and universities across Pakistan as these are the foundations that produce apostates. We will target and demolish the foundations," he said.
Another commander confirmed the release of the video.
Mansoor issued a similar video in the wake of the Peshawar attack on December 16, 2014.
He said schools like the one in Peshawar were "preparing those generals, brigadiers and majors who killed and arrested so many fighters".
"If our women and children died as martyrs your children will not escape. If you attack us we will take revenge for the innocents," he said in the video message, also posted online.
The video also shows four attackers, two of them in their mid teens, practicing shooting as part of their training before carrying out the Charsadda attack.
