rawalpindi-An 18-year-old boy died after a speeding train hit him as he attempted to shoot a TikTok video on a railway track in Shah Khalid Colony on Friday.
Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene and shifted the dead body to DHQ Hospital, Raja Bazaar for autopsy. The deceased was identified as Hamza, resident of Girja Road.
According to details, Hamza along with his friends went to the railway track at Shah Khalid Colony and started moving along with railway track while handing over his mobile to friend to record his movement.
They added the boy could not judge the direction of speeding train and got hit by the speeding train. “The blow was such massive that young boy bounced like a rubber ball in the air and fell on stoned filled rough land sustaining severe injuries,” sources said adding that he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Locals and his friends alerted Rescue 1122 which reached at the spot and moved the body to hospital for autopsy.
A spokesman of Rescue 1122 also confirmed that the boy was killed after being hit by a speeding train while he was walking very close to railway track for a video for his social media account. He said the rescuers found the boy dead and shifted him to hospital for post-mortem.
A video of the accident also went viral on social media.
Police recover child from
captivity of kidnappers
Taxila police recovered a 7-year-old child from captivity of a gang of kidnappers safely besides arresting a culprit involved in the heinous crime, informed a police spokesman on Friday.
A case was registered against the gang members already with police, he said.
According to him, a gang of kidnappers abducted a seven-year-old child namely Ilyas from Taxila and later demanded Rs10.85 million as ransom from the father of victim for his safe recovery. Police registered a case against kidnappers and started investigation. Taking notice of the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas constituted a special team under supervision of SSP Investigation Muhammad Faisal Kamran and SSP Potohar Division Syed Ali tasking it to bust the gang of kidnappers and recover the child from their captivity. He said the police team obtained mobile data of the calls made by the kidnappers to victim family and managed to trace out a kidnapper. A raid was carried out at the den of kidnappers and child was recovered and the kidnapper was held by police, he said.
CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas reunited the abductee with parents in a simple ceremony. He also appreciated the efforts of police team for netting the kidnapper. He said father of child told police that his son was lured for sweet by kidnapper. He added the kidnapper called the father of child and demanded ransom.
He said police are looking for other accomplices and facilitators and would arrest them soon.
He said police are fully prepared to protect the lives and property of citizens round the clock. They thanked the CPO and his team for getting the child released from captivity of the kidnapping gang.
