KARACHI - The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday quashed the sentence awarded to two workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the illegal arms case.
The court approved an appeal against the conviction of two MQM workers Zakir and Adnan and declared their sentence null and void.
“The accused should be released from jail if they are not wanted in any other case,” the court ordered.
The sessions court had sentenced both accused to six years imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the accused were arrested by the police from PIB Colony. They were missing before the arrest. The petitions for their disappearance were also pending in the Sindh High Court, the lawyer said.
