Cops accused of torturing youth, sister

RAHIM YAR KHAN - Two policemen tortured a youth and his sister who were going back to home from Railway Station area in Sadiqabad city on Tuesday.
Shahzad Lateef was going to home with his sister by motorcycle when policemen Shabbir Ahmed and Qasim Raza along with police volunteer Yaseen stopped them in Madina Town.
They initially investigated their relation with each other but when the person introduced them as brother and sister, the policemen forced them to police station city for interrogation. Shehzad asked the policemen without any complaint or case why they want to take them to the police station. However, Shabbir and Qasim started beating Shehzad and later they also tortured his sister and abused them in vulgar language. The policemen accused them that they were not brother and sister.
When Shehzad tried to get registered a case with police station city, police refused. Later, Shehzad went to DSP city office for complaint but he was informed that DSP is busy in an operation against dacoits. An unknown person made the video of police torture on Shehzad and his sister and loaded on social media. After the media reports, SP Investigation Irfan Samoon ordered inquiry against Shabbir and Qasim Raza. Police spokesperson Arshad Nawaz said that SP investigation will initiate an inquiry against these police employees but he is busy in recruitment process. SHO city Sadiqabad said that he was outstation when this incident occurred but police high ups were looking into the matter.
