MUZAFFARGARH - A Kasur-like child abuse scandal came to surface in Kot Addu town of Muzaffargarh district where three friends subjected at least 26 poor children to sexual assault and also made videos of the crime.
The Kot Addu police arrested Faisal (22), Abu Bakar and Shaan alias Shani who have confessed to sexually assaulting the children. DPO Awais Ahmed Malik told the media that a special team of CIA police headed by Khan Niazi was organised to arrest them. The child abuse scandal surfaced after 10-year-old Yousaf was lifted from a street and subjected to sexual assault last week. He was a son of Murtaza Nizami, a caretaker of a mosque. When the parents saw his blood stained "Shalwar", they inquired about it. He narrated the whole story. Murtaza Nizami approached Kot Addu city Police and got registered a case but police failed to apprehend them.
Consequently, a separate team was detailed which caught one of the culprits Abu-Bakr on the information provided by the victim boy. Later, the police arrested the other two culprits Faisal and Shaan. Police said a number of parents have approached the police after their arrest.
The DPO said. "We have registered five cases on the reports of victims." SHO Asghar Iqbal Leghari claimed that the accused have confessed to sexually assaulting at least 26 children.
The DPO said that the cases were registered under section 377 (Sodomy) and 367-A PPC under which they are liable to be punished for life term or death sentence. Police said that 10-year-old Yousaf, Tayyab (11), a student of 6th class, Saqlain (13) of 8th class, Abdullah (11) and Zeeshan Khan (12) have lodged their complaints and five cases were registered.
Girl raped, another killed for 'honour': A fiendish youth allegedly raped a teenage girl and filmed the cruel act while another girl was shot dead for honour. According to Kot Shakir Police, the alleged accused were identified as Zafar, Mureed, Azhar, Munawar, Zubair and Aslam son of Atta and Aslam, son of Rab Nawaz, resident of Mauza Aora, situated in the remit of Kot Shakir Police.
The accused entered the house of Noor Muhammad, a resident of same locality and abducted his 15-year-old daughter the other night. The accused took the girl to nearby fields where Zafar allegedly raped her while the other six culprits remained at watch.
The culprits also filmed the abuse.
On the application of the affected girl, the Kot Shakir Police have registered a case against the seven accused.
However, no arrest could be made till filing of this report. In another incident, a girl was gunned down for honour.
According to police, Muhammad Idrees, son of Noor, a resident of Naiko Kara situated in the remit of Jhang Saddr Police, suspected that his sister has developed illicit relations with someone of the village.
He advised the girl time and again to mend her ways but to no avail. On Friday, he opened indiscriminate firing, killing his sister on the spot.
The police shifted the dead body to hospital and handed over to the family after autopsy. The police have registered a case against Idrees.
