Haniya secures third position in Asian Tennis Championship in Tajikistan

LAHORE - Haniya Minhas, the young tennis prodigy, participated in the Asian Tennis Championship in Tajikistan and made Pakistan proud by securing third position at the prestigious tournament. Haniya was supported in her journey by Descon and BARD Foundation as she carried Pakistan’s flag. Before participating in her first international tournament, Haniya had already made history by winning 74 titles by the age of 10. In Tajikistan, she secured a bronze medal in the tournament and is considered to be the highest ranked tennis player from Pakistan in the Asian Tennis Rankings in the Under-14 age group for both boys and girls. Faisal Dawood, Board Member BARD Foundation, expressed the pride Descon and BARD Foundation feel in their association with Haniya at a gathering held in her honor in Lahore. “We are elated at Haniya’s achievements in Tajikistan. I am sure that this is only the first of many titles she will bring home from the international stage. Haniya has further cemented the belief BARD Foundation has shown in her. “Haniya’s achievement is truly remarkable given that she was the youngest participant in the U-14 tournament and defeated some of the highest ranked players in Asia,” remarked Farooq Nazir, Board Member BARD Foundation. BARD Foundation continues its support for Haniya Minhas and other such athletes in its endeavors to support the future stars of Pakistan.
