Pak-Turk bilateral ties hold positive impact on regional stability: COAS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Wednesday said that the enhanced Pakistan-Turkey bilateral ties hold a positive impact on peace and regional stability. 

According to the issued statement by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS said this during his day-long official visit to the Republic of Turkey.

During the visit, COAS called on Turkish Minister of National Defence His Excellency General (r) Hulusi Akar. Commander Turkish General Staff His Excellency General Yasar Guler and Commander of the Turkish Land Forces His Excellency General Umit Dundar were also present at the meeting.

Moreover, the matters pertaining to mutual interests, regional security situations including recent developments in the Afghan Peace Process, bilateral defence and security cooperation in various fields came under discussion during the meeting.

The dignitaries lauded the role-play of Pakistan in maintaining peace and stability, particularly the Afghan peace process. In addition to this, pledges on improving mutual brotherly ties were also made on the occasion.
