SUKKUR-At least 15 outlaws were killed and one police constable martyred during massive drive by the police in katcha area of Ronti near Ubauro district Ghotki and Gehalpur in Kashmore. Reports here said that on the information about presence of hardened criminals in katcha area of Ronti, the District Police Officer Ghotki Pir Muhammad Shah alongwith heavy contingents of police and APCs cordoned off the katcha area. Simultaneously, on the other hand District Police Officer Kashmore Syed Asad Raza Shah started drive against criminals in katcha area of Gehapur. Later, to help the police, gunship helicopter and Rangers was also provided. Afterwards exchange of firing took place between police and the outlaws during rockets were also fired. As a result of encounter nine dacoits were killed who were identified Ghulam Nabi Shaikh, Waloo Shar, Bhaloo Shar, Khuda Bux Shar alias Khudan, Sommro Shar and others while police has arrested three dacoits including Jabbar Shar, Nawaz Shar and Zahid in injured condition as stated by the police. Three dacoits including Dr. Ibrahim Shaikh, Nadir Shaikh and Nasrullah Shaikh were killed in police encounter with dacoits in Gemro police station jurisdiction in Ghotki on Tuesday. DPO Ghotki Pir Muhammad Shaikh addressing a Press conference in Ghotki told that, 12 bodies were in police custody while bodies of three dacoits who could not be identified as yet, were lying in katcha area of Ronti. In the firing of dacoits, a policeman Muhammad Sachal Mahar resident of village Bhanjar near Moomal Ji Mari Mirpur Mathelo posted at police station Andal Sundrani Ghotki was martyred. The DPO Ghoti Pir Muhammad Shah and DPO Kashmore Syed Asad Raza Shah have said that the drive against the outlaws would continue. IG Police Sindh has announced Rs 1 million for the policemen who took part in the drive while Sindh Interior Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza announced Rs 0.5 million. Sindh Chief Minister appreciated police efforts and successful drive and announced for promotions including promotion of martyred Muhammad Sachal Mahar to the post of Head Constable, compensation of Rs 2 million to legal heir and job to one family person of the deceased.
