CM says no second thought about darkness elimination

SHEIKHUPURA-Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated the government resolve to eliminate the challenge posed by the energy crisis at all costs.

“Engineers and labourers working at Bhikki Gas Power Plant are discharging an important national duty and their look after is the responsibility of the project management and the Punjab government.” 

Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif was addressing a gathering of engineers, experts, government officers and labourers after reviewing pace of work at Bhikki gas power plant in Sheikhupura here.

The CM said that the nation is looking forward to timely completion of power projects. Therefore, delay in their completion could not be tolerated, he pointed out.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the government would come up to expectations of the nation in every sector including energy. He said that all-out efforts are being to resolve the power problem. He claimed that the Punjab government is setting up Bhikki gas power plant with its own resources, however, the project would supply electricity to the whole country. The Punjab CM said that work is being carried out round the clock under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif for removing darkness from every nook and corner of the country. Shahbaz Sharif reviewed the pace of work on the power plant and expressed his satisfaction. He directed the authorities concerned to spare no effort for the timely completion of the project. Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Private Ltd Company CEO Ahad Khan Cheema briefed the chief minister about the project.
