Shehbaz Sharif intends to withdraw application for elimination of name from blacklist

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif intends to get his application for elimination of name from blacklist withdrawn.

It is to note that earlier Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted permission to PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif to travel abroad on medical grounds. However the decision was revoked by the government, and Sharif has been restricted from travelling to England. In light of this, he had appealed in the Lahore High Court again to get the ruling implemented.

However, the PML-N president has now intended to get his application withdrawn and has decided to approach court in this regard.

The federal government has now included Shehbaz Sharif’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL), which happens to be the sole reason of his petition's withdrawal, as stated by the petitioner’s counsel.

On behalf of Shehbaz Sharif, the petition was filed by Advocate Amjad Pervez, Azam Nazir Tarar. The petition will be heard on May 24 by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi.

The concerned parties have been issued notices by the court in the implementation case for May 26.
