Advocate acquitted in murder case

LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions Judge Ch Ameer Muhammad Khan on Monday acquitted Ch Naeem Advocate from the charges of murdering a 12-year-old housemaid Shazia Masih, as prosecution failed to prove charges against the accused. The court also acquitted Naeems son Haris and wife Ghazala Naeem nominated in the murder case. The judge exonerated Amanat of the charges who was accused of taking late Shazia to the advocates family for labour. During the case proceedings, prosecution failed to prove charges levelled against all the accused of torturing and allegedly raping Shazia Masih by Naeem. Medical report, which submitted in the court, showed that Shazias death was 'natural as cause of death described as skin disease and not due to 'torture. The girl was not subjected to rape, the report further revealed. Complainant Nasreen Bibi, mother of deceased Shazia and her brothers also recorded their statements before the court but failed to maintain and provide sufficient evidence for proving the accused as responsible for Shazias death.
