NAB arrests ex-nazim

PESHAWAR - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa arrested accused former nazim Nawab Khattak allegedly involved in an illegal agreement through private lease treaty for allotment of shop/ commercial area in the PDA Commercial Complex Phase-V Hayatabad.

During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the subject plot was allotted to the accused Nawab Khattak in the year 2012 during the tenure of Qazi Laiq the then Director-General PDA through illegal agreement private lease treaty.

The evidence has been collected that shows that the accused persons caused huge loss to public exchequer by misusing his authority.  The whole process was allegedly conducted in violation of applicable law, rules and regulations.  As per applicable laws, rules and regulation, the commercial properties were to be allotted through open auction only which may have fetched up huge funds to the PDA in the shape of premium.

Thus the accused persons in connivance with other officers of the PDA has committed the offence of corruption and corrupt practices cognizable u/s 9 (a) of NAO 1999.

The accused person will be presented in the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand.
