Peshawar win Inter Regional Jr National Kabaddi Championship

LAHORE - Peshawar won the 2nd Inter Regional Junior National Kabaddi Championship (Asian Style) defeated Lahore-Gujranwala by 54-20 in the final played here at the Indoor Hall, Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Monday. 

Both the teams displayed quality kabaddi skills throughout the event and made way to the final, where Peshawar dominated right from the word go and put Lahore-Gujranwala team under tremendous pressure and comfortably won the final by 54-20. Faisalabad-Sahiwal team played well against Sargodha-DG Khan and outpaced them by 59-31 to claim the third position. 

Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Vice Chairman Rao Zahid Qayyum graced the finals as chief guest and distributed prizes among the winning and runners-up teams and prominent performers of the event. Earlier, he was warmly received upon reaching the venue and introduced with the participating players and officials. Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) Secretary Rana Sarwar, Deputy Director SBP Tariq Wattoo, Chief Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti and Administrator NPSC Gymnasium Hall Mustafa Shah were also present on this occasion.  Rao Zahid appreciated the exciting and thrilling competitions of the event and also congratulated the winning team. “It is good to see game of kabaddi is progressing across the country and now talented kabaddi players will be available for selection from all parts of the country.
