57kg of hashish recovered from truck

KHAIRPUR - Excise police on Saturday recovered 57 kg of Hashish from a truck at Sindh-Punjab border and arrested two persons.

According to Excise Police, led by Inspector Asghar Ali Shah, raided a truck on National Highway near Sindh-Punjab border and during search recovered 57 kg of  hashish from spare wheel and arrested driver and cleaner Sultan Bahadur and Yousuf Khan. They also took the truck into custody.

According to police, the hashish was being taken to Karachi from Punjab. Further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, as per rumours doing the rounds hashish was above 80 kg, while the Excise Police showed only 57 kg.

Cops handed appointment letters

A ceremony was held at Police Lines Naushero Feroze on Saturday to hand letters of appointment to the newly-recruited cops. PPP MPA was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, the MPA said the government had provided jobs to the youth on merit. “This is the first instance that hundreds of cops have been provided jobs on merit,” he added.

He said that law and order situation was much better than earlier.

“Hundreds of jobs have also been created in other departments and in this regard Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the policy.

Earlier SSP Naushahro Feroze in his Speech briefed about the process of recruitment.
