Abdullah, Farman reach Aitchison College Jr Tennis final

LAHORE - Abdullah Adnan and Farman Shakeel breezed into the boys U-18 singles final of the Aitchison College Junior National Tennis Championship 2021 after winning their respective semifinals played here at the Aitchison College tennis courts on Friday. 
In the first semifinal of the boys U-18, Abdullah Adnan was up against Faizan Fayyaz and he played tremendous tennis against his opponent and overpowered him 6-1, 6-1 to book berth in the final, where he will take on Farman Shakeel (Guj, Pak Army), who upset top seed Bilal Asim in the second semifinal 6-3, 6-1. 
In the boys U-16 semifinals, Hamid Israr played well against Shaeel Durab and outpaced him 6-0, 6-2 while Huzaima Abdul Rehman beat Haider Ali Rizwan 7-6, 6-4 in the second semifinal. In the boys U-14 semifinals, Asad Zaman (McDonald’s) thumped Abdul Basit 6-0, 6-2 while Hamza Roman had to struggle hard to beat Ahtesham Humayun 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. In the boys U-12 quarterfinals, Abubakar Talha (Wapda) beat Nabeel Ali Qayum 4-1, 4-2, Hamza Ali Rizwan (LGS Paragon) beat Zohaib Afzal Malik 0-4, 4-2, 4-2, Amir Mazari (Aitchison) beat Abdul Basit 5-4, 4-2 and Hamza Roman beat Umar Jawad 5-3, 4-0. 
In the boys/girls U-10 quarterfinals, Abdur Rehman (AAA Associated) beat Zayd Zaman 4-0, 4-0, Hajra Sohail (AAA Associates) beat Abdur Rehman (LHE) 4-1, 4-0, Shayan Afridi beat Ahmad Mustafa 4-0, 4-0 and Zohaib Amjad beat Mauz Shahbaz 4-1, 4-1. In the girls U-18 semifinals, Natalia Zaman thrashed Labika Durab 6-0, 6-0 while Amna Ali Qayum routed Zahra Suleiman 7-5, 6-2. In the girls U-14 quarterfinals, Zainab Ali Raja beat Zainab Imran 4-0, 4-0 and Aleena Suleiman beat Noori Saad 4-2, 4-2. 
In the boys U-18 doubles semifinals, Zalan/Adnan beat Ahtesham/Bakir 4-2, 4-2 and Israr/Hassam beat Shaeel/partner 4-1, 4-2. In U-14 doubles semifinals, Asad/Humayum beat Abubakar/Zohaib 4-1, 4-2 and Shahswar/Roman were beaten 4-0, 4-1. In U-12 doubles semifinals, Abubakar/Zohaib outsmarted Sameer/Zayd 4-0, 4-1 and Amir/Omer beat Aalay/Hajra 4-0, 4-0.
