Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) issued notices on Tuesday to former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, former president Asif Ali Zardari, former attorney-general Justice (retd) Malik Qayyum and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
A three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Saqib Nisar, ordered to give notifications to former presidents and attorney general. The bench was hearing a petition a petition by Feroze Shah Gilani regarding the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
In 2007, former president General (retd) Musharraf granted amnesty to politicians and various individuals involved in different corruption and criminal cases.
The petitioner appealed the court that the NRO caused a loss of billions of rupees and that those who made the law must have to return the amount incurred in losses due to it.
