US distances itself from Modi's remarks on Balochistan

NEW YORK: American think tanks have warned Obama administration that Indian PM Modi’s open interference in the internal matters of Pakistan have a risk of creating chaos and tension therefore; US should give a clear message to India that it does not supports Modi’s remarks on Balochistan.

US State Department deputy spokesperson Mark Toner has clarified a day before that US supports Pakistan’s territorial integrity however; it is distancing itself from Modi’s provocative statement over Balochistan in which he blamed Pakistan for human rights violations and violence in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

While talking to a private TV channel Branks Community College professor Hammad Khan said that America has distanced itself from Modi’s offensive remarks whilst keeping in view the concrete facts.

He said that in the light of reports compiled by think tanks, US has conveyed a message to India through diplomatic sources that such remarks will increase border tensions and can lead to major destruction.

He explained that Pakistani-American scholars are preparing a draft against the malicious tactics of India which will be sent to President Obama.

The draft will be an appeal to the US administration to intervene in the matter and prevent Indian PM from making such remarks.
